I often get asked “What is boudoir?”
The technical definition of boudoir comes from the French and is “a woman’s dressing room, bedroom, or private sitting room”. My definition is a little bit broader. Although most boudoir photography is done in a clients bedroom or a hotel room I’ve also used night clubs, living rooms and any other interesting area! To me boudoir is intimate portraiture, it emcompasses beauty, pin-up and artistic nudes.
Boudoir sessions themselves are fun and intimate, they are designed to unleash the sexy, sensual, flirty woman that is you!
Boudoir sessions can be done at any time. It can be your little secret or you can share it with your friends!
I love boudoir sessions because it’s important for women to embrace and celebrate the beautiful goddesses we are! Being constantly bombarded by images of “perfection” a boudoir session allows you to be perfect!
Spoil yourself with a mani-pedi, new lingerie or a new dress, get your hair and make-up done! Even book yourself a hotel room, then you can make it a special date night for you and your significant other after your session!
Many women are shy and don’t know what to expect, they often think that they must be naked, like anything we’re not out to shock you but make it a fun and stress free experience. Most women start a session fully clothed in their favourite outfit! It can be casual or dressy, as long as you’re comfortable! How much skin you want to show really is up to you, I work within your comfort level! The biggest thing to remember about a boudoir session is to have fun! It’s an escape from the everyday!
Whether it’s a gift for your significant other or something just for you, now is the time! Are you ready?
