It was hot June day when Thanujah and Daniel said I do in a morning ceremony at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington.
We arrived at the hotel where Thanujah and Daniel were getting ready on separate floors. The sky was clear and you could see that it was going to be a beautiful and hot day. We arrived on the 17th floor and startled Daniel as he was running to grab some breakfast. Assuring him we arrived early and that he had plenty of time to eat something, because the last thing I want is the groom to pass out from hunger, he settled into breakfast with his groomsmen while we sat and got the equipment ready. When the guys were ready we headed to their room to capture them putting on their tuxes, cufflinks, bow ties and having a laugh.
With the guys ready we headed to the bride to capture her finishing touches. Thanujah opened the door fully ready and excited for the day! We captured a few bridal portraits in the room and with her bridesmaids before heading to the lobby to capture a few more quick images before we were off the Royal Botanical Gardens for the wedding ceremony.
The ceremony was under the tent in the east side of the gardens. A beautiful set-up for a morning snack awaited the guests as they arrived. The guests were ushered to their seats. The groom walked his Mom up the aisle and then took his place beside the minister as the groomsmen made their way up the red carpet. The bridesmaids had their turn on the red carpet followed by the flower girl and ring bearer who came with a sign letting the groom know that the bride was on her way! As Thanujah stood at the bottom of the red carpet with her Dad, Daniel tried to suppress the tears of joy and excitement upon seeing her! Dad handed off his little girl to her waiting groom and the ceremony was under way. In a simple ceremony full of smiles, a bit of laughter and pinky swears it wasn’t long before the couple were pronounced husband and wife.
Following the ceremony the guests had a chance to eat and mingle while the family did their photos. When we were done with the family photos the guests had a chance to grab some pictures with the couple. After the last of the guests had left it was time for bridal party photos in the gardens. We had so much fun playing in the gardens. When it was time for the newlyweds couples pictures we left the bridal party and headed to the forested area of the gardens. We spent some time doing some romantic images as well as a few goofy ones. Thanujah wanted some images at the LaSalle Marina so before we called it a day on their photo session we headed over to the Marina where we captured some images by the lake! Happy but exhausted Thanujah and Daniel were ready for a short break before the reception.
The reception was at Panemonte in Etobicoke. We arrived as the finishing touches were being put on the hall. The girls headed to the bridal suite where they touched up hair and make-up in preparation for the evenings festivities. The guests mingled in the front lobby before it was time to enter and the reception was underway. The bridal party entered to a packed room. The bride and groom were quick to get to the formalities of the evening as they started their first dance and followed it with the cutting of the cake. The speeches were short and sweet with the grooms sister breaking down in tears as she spoke about how happy she was for her brother! Dinner was buffet style and when everybody had their fill the bride and groom went to change from their formal wedding wear into cultural evening outfits. They came back and thanked everyone for coming and opened the dance floor with a dance with their parents.
It was a long, happy and exciting day for Thanujah and Daniel and we were delighted to be a part of it.
