Darcia and Mark got married in an evening ceremony in June but they held off on doing their couple portraits until after the wedding day. Post shoots are a great idea for those couples that are doing a lot of DIY on their own wedding day or have limited time. A post wedding shoot is a lot more relaxed and the couple can choose a location that suits them rather than using one that is convenient! They also don’t have to worry about cramming everything in then!
For the post shoot they rented a room at the Gladstone Hotel. We started with a few pictures of Mark while Darcia finished getting ready.
Being a Sunday afternoon we had the run of the place. After a few photos inside the hotel and the bar we walked out onto Queen St where Darcia had a few thoughts of locations she liked. We walked down into Liberty Village finding interesting locations to do fun and intimate portraits along the way! As a goofy couple every serious and loving portrait was balanced by a silly face or a mock action where one or both would break down laughing!
I always love when couples are able to let loose and have a lot of fun during a shoot, without worrying about time or getting the dress dirty!
It’s also a great opportunity to experiment resulting in images that really speak to the couple!
