As summer is a popular time to get married and the days that can hit 30 degrees plus are many, as a Greater Toronto Area photographer I’ve encountered the heat and found ways to make it much more bearable.
The first thing to consider is air conditioning. If you don’t have it in your house consider booking a hotel room with one to get ready in.
If your ceremony location is outside consider where the shade is when booking your ceremony time. Also fans make a great giveaway and can help keep your guests cool! Have lots of water on hand too! If your ceremony is in a church with no air conditioning, consider giving out fans and keeping the ceremony short after all nobody wants anybody passing out from the heat!
When it comes to photo time this is usually the hottest part of the day. If you don’t have an air conditioned indoor location booked. Look at parks near the water and with lots of shade. The difference between direct sun and the shade can be huge on a really hot day! I’ve found that dollar store battery operated fans can be a fun way to keep cool! Also bring lots of cold beverages for you and your bridal party! Don’t forget fruits and veggies! These snacks usually help to keep everyone from getting hangry and can be refreshing! And when in doubt let’s get some ice cream or duck into a pub for a cold drink!
Hope these tips help you stay cool on your wedding day!
