As a Toronto based wedding photographer I have the pleasure of hearing many wonderful love stories.
Back in September we had the privilege to photograph childhood sweethearts Althea and Kris’ wedding!
We first met Althea and Kris in October 2011 when they started planning their wedding. Among the usual challenges of wedding planning Althea and Kris also had distance to cope with. Althea was living in the States and only visited Toronto once in awhile but this did not deter them. They planned a wonderful intimate party for their wedding day and their guests truly had a fabulous time.
The day of the wedding we started at Kris’ house which was a buzz of activity. The guys were very dapper and the house was full of emotion and love! Within their family tradition, the family took turns blessing Kristofer with well wishes. Then it was off to the bride. Althea was at the hotel with a large entourage of family and friends! After some blessings and amazing photos of the girls we were off to the ceremony at Saint Patrick’s Parish in Markham. The setting was beautiful and Althea and Kris pledged their love for each other in front of their family and friends. They exited the church with everyone blowing bubbles. The sun was shining and the bridal party was in high spirits when we arrived at Richmond Green for their wedding photo session. We had so much fun with their whole group that it was hard to stop doing bridal party shots but I absolutely love having time alone with just the couple, after all many of these photos will grace their home as wall decor! I absolutely love the intimate images we captured for them to cherish forever! And then of course it was party time at the Marriott! With many traditions and a great DJ the party got underway quickly and lasted well into the wee hours of the morning.
Enjoy the teaser video we created for Althea and Kris after their wedding!
